As a freshman at Constitution High School, there were a lot of expectations of me.
The pressure was on to do my best as far as good reputation of this school was in my
hands as I started the project. Our topic was Italian Mafia...Joey Merlino, we choose
this topic because personally I thought it was very interesting. So I decided that I
would work on an exhibit, it was right up my alley; my partners wanted to do it to so
it was a date. The research and the project was stressful, but the resources were the
most annnoying part of it. It toke a little while to kick start the project, as we
work on the exhibit. Korin Lassiter, Adriannah Severio and myself set up appointments
and attended the National Arvies to visit documents and see different parts of the
Italian Mafia. My partners and I ran into a lot of problems along the way, but we
stuck together through the process. As a result, the project came out beauitul and we
learned so many differnent things, we bounded and I connected with new present and
future friends. I learned that I souldn't work with friends because it can break up
close relationships. But I also learned that it can be a good thing to work with them
in the long run because, when you get stressed there is a shoulder to lean on to keep
you up when your down. During this process I learned that the Italian Mafia is more
than what they claim they are, they are a disfuctional family. I think I really gained
a fuctional family at the end. That is MY PERSONAL REFLECTION on my National History
Day Project on the Italian Mafia...Joey Merlino. What was your National History Day
Project about?
P.S. I would really appericate it if you came and seen Korin Lassiter, Adriannah
Severio and Silmarie Aguilar's National History Day Project. We worked really hard on
this exhibit; THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!!
