Rene Descartes
March 31st, 1596 – February 11th, 1650
‘’I think, therefore I am’’
Information about his life:
Rene Descartes was born on March 31st, 1596, in the town of La Haye in the south of France. He was son of Joachim Descartes, which was a Councilor in Parliament; and in his spare time he provided a good learning environment for his son; Rene. When Rene was 8 years old he attended the Jesuit college of Henri 4th in La Fleche; he studied literature, grammar, science, and mathematics. In 1614, Rene left the school to study civil and cannon Law at Poitiers; two years later he received his baccalaureate and licentiate degrees in Law. In his spare time he studied philosophy, theology, and medicine. Rene spent a short time in the military, than went on to enjoy his quiet and happy life. He still continued writing essays, and exploring the world of science and mathematics. Rene was always a frail person, he would spent most of he’s mornings in the bed; where he did most of his thinking. A couple years later Rene relocated to Sweden to tutor Queen Christina in philosophy. Queen Christina wanted her classes at 5:00 o’ clock in the morning. This new schedule was terrible for Rene’s fragile body. Not to long after, he contracted pneumonia; he later died on February 11, 1650 at age 54.
Rene and his contribution to ALGEBRA?
Rene’s contribution to algebra was; in 1637, Rene published ‘’geometry’’. He’s combination to algebra and geometry gave birth to analytical geometry, better known as Cartesian geometry. That is the connection between Rene Descartes and ALGEBRA.

"Thank you M'am"

Mr. Romero
Dear Reader,
I think in my "Thank you M'am" essay,it has a voice. I believe this because it sounds very personal and it does sound like
myself. It also has details that support the essay, so enjoy the essay and have a nice day!!!!!!!!!!
Does the story, "Thank you M'am" end happily or sadly?"
In my opinion, I do believe ‘’ Thank you M’am’’ ended happily. One; Roger learned a life long lesson. Two, Roger and Mrs.
Luella created a life long bond together. Finally Roger was so speechless at the end of the story that he couldn't even say,
"Thank you M'am". Here are more examples of my opinion
Roger learned a couple of life long lessons. For one, he learned not to under-estimated older and bigger woman, you just
might be surprised on what may happen. Also, he learns to make decisions; even though that means you can't get what you
what. For example, when Roger washed his face and he had a chance to leave but he didn't. In addition, near the end of the
story Mrs. Luella gave Roger money for his blue suede shoes, he realized he doesn't need to steal to get what you want.
In the beginning of the story, Roger and Mrs. Luella didn’t get along with each other. Luella had Roger in a head-lock,
and Roger tried to steal her purse; it would only mean that they wouln't get along. But during the story they started to see
both sides of the story. Roger realized that, "The grass isn't greener on the other side". Mrs. Luella learned that, not
everybody knows whats' good for them. Their relationship started to grow when Mrs. Luella took Roger in her house, feed
him, and bathe him.
During this journey, Roger learned that all he needed was a caring hand. He really didn't want the blue suede shoes, that
was society saying he needed th blue suede shoes. In fact, I believe one of Elvis most famos song about blue suede came out
out around the same time Roger tried to steal Mrs. Luella purse. That could be the reason why Roger wanted to steal Mrs.
Luella purse, he wanted the money to buy them; Roger obviously, was poor or didn't have the money to buy them. After Mrs.
Luella was so humble to him in the end of the story, Roger couldn't even say "Thank you M'am to Mrs. Luella for being so nice
to him.
In conclusion I think the story ends happily, because Roger learns great lessons to take through his life (I guarantee that
he will never steal for anybody ever again), and Mrs. Luella gave a needy child a piece of her time. Mrs. Luella could have call
the cops on him and him arrested but she took him in and gave him some attention. The story started off sadly but at the
end, the story had a happy ending. This is why I believe the story ends happily.

Philosophy of Government (Part 2)
- The Constitution does effectively resolve conflicts, the
Constitution was made to resolve conflicts across the nation. –
In my first ‘’Philosophy of Government’’ I wrote about how the government
is necessary because the government sets laws to keep the peace between citizens; and for
equal rights for each citizen. I still believe in that. But this time the essay that I’m wring
about is, ‘’Does our Constitution effectively resolve conflict?’’ I believe the constitution
does resolve conflict. The constitution was written for the United States laws, and for
human rights; which means it was written to solve situations that we are having. Most
people understand the rights the Constitution has set for us and which; other peoples
rights so there would be no conflict between them.So in conclusion, I do believe the
Constitution does resolve coflicts.

My Philosphy of Government
What do I think about the government -I agree with Thomas Hobbes we need the government. Weneed laws to enforce freedom and for equal rights. I believe that we all need some type of laws to follow so we can live life in the most comforable way , without being worried about everything else in the world. This is what I think about the government.
